The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General has released new information about a police-involved shooting in Newark earlier this week.
Attorney General Matt Platkin’s office says that officers shot Shaquan Landrum, of Hillside, on Monday, following a police standoff.
Officials say that multiple agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, were serving an arrest warrant for Landrum on charges of attempted murder from an earlier incident in Hillside. They say that Landrum barricaded himself on Irvine Turner Boulevard and fired multiple shots at police.
Officers returned fire and struck Landrum. He was treated at the hospital and is expected to be OK.
Landrum is now facing multiple charges connected to the incident, including attempted murder.
