The Stamford Diner honored one of its regular customers Thursday - a woman who is also its oldest customer.
Josie Monroe, of Old Greenwich, is 103! She celebrated the milestone last month.
The diner and Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo presented her with a citation.
Monroe and her daughter Eileen eat breakfast at the diner every Thursday.
"The secret is to live, just live and worrying does not solve anything. I don't worry about anything. I get disgusted sometimes and then I say, 'The hell with it' and keep going," she says.
Monroe was born in Alabama, raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Greenwich after she attended high school.
To show her appreciation, when Monroe leaves a tip she turns the dollar bills into bowties for the servers.
