West Islip students help raise money for families still recovering from Hurricane Helene
22h agoJoseph DeBello, owner of Hitch and BesTea by Hitch in Babylon, said he felt like he “had to do something” to help the victims of the fires in California.
DeBello, who’s also on the board of the Babylon Rotary Club, got to work and organized a collection drive.
He’s seeking a slew of items, including air purifiers, blankets and batteries.
All items must be new.
Joining DeBello are two other local businesses: Babylon CrossFit and DoodlesCloset in Lindenhurst.
Items can be donated during business hours at any of the participating locations.
The goal is two truckfuls of items.
