A source confirms to News 12 that there has been a second arrest in connection with a 2021 acid attack that severely injured an Elmont woman.
As News 12 has reported, Nafiah Ikram was 21 years old when she was doused with acid while walking up her driveway in March of that year.
The Hofstra student suffered first- and second-degree burns to her face, right eye, arms and throat. She now has limited vision in one eye.
As News 12 has reported, 29-year-old Terrell Campbell, of Brooklyn, was arrested in connection with the attack in February. He has since pleaded not guilty to numerous charges.
Prosecutors say Campbell is an aspiring rapper who allegedly mentioned a face burning in acid in his lyrics.
The district attorney said Campbell is not known to the victim's family. When asked if further arrests could be made, the DA said the investigation is ongoing and "it's certainly possible." No motive was given.
