The Prospect Park Alliance and NYC Parks hosted a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the restoration of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Arch at Grand Army Plaza.
It's the first notable restoration of the monument in nearly 50 years.
"This not only commemorates veterans of the Army, Navy, from the Civil War, but this is a gathering place in central Brooklyn," says Brooklyn Borough Parks Commissioner Martin Maher at the event. "It's great that we can celebrate when a park is restored like this."
