Snowfall caused whiteout conditions on the East End on Saturday.
Visibility was very low out on Springs Fireplace Road in East Hampton as the wind whipped the snow around.
East Hampton Deputy Town Supervisor David Lys urged drivers to stay off the roads.
He said crews were out there working to clear the snow.
"The supervisor has authorized the town to remove the snow from the walkways and everywhere else the right off ways over the last week because there's now been close to 2 feet of snow that's landed in the Town of East Hampton, so extreme patience and caution," Lys stressed.
Lys also asked residents to shovel snow onto their lawns instead of the roads.
