Police released a sketch of the man who they say attempted to rape a 41-year-old woman inside Prospect Park on Wednesday night.

The attack happened at around 9:30 p.m. near Wellhouse Drive and Terrace Bridge. According to investigators, the man walked up to the woman, placed his hands around her neck and choked her.

The NYPD says he then attempted to sexually assault the victim before he took westbound inside the park.

Police initially reported that the victim turned down medical attention - they now say paramedics took her to a nearby hospital. She is expected to recover physically.

Investigators say the suspect is around 6 feet 2 inches tall and was last seen wearing a light-colored baseball cap, a light-colored short sleeve shirt and khaki pants.
