A museum about the Sing Sing Prison is coming to Ossining.
A special wall breaking ceremony was held on Monday to kick off construction for it.
The exhibition will be located at the Olive Opera House in Ossining.
Museum trustee and former correction officer John Gilman shared what he hopes the museum will be able to teach others.
"[We want] to show society that rehabilitation is possible and that the long history of Sing Sing is just incredible," Gilman said.
Organizers said the museum is slated to open in October. Walking tours are scheduled to start in April.
They're major milestones that coincide with the prison's 200th anniversary.
