        Greg Berlanti, a former resident of Suffern, Ramapo, and Rye, has been honored with the Governor’s Award at the 76th Emmy Awards.
        Berlanti was recognized for his contributions to increasing LGBTQ+ visibility in the television industry.
        A Rye High School graduate, Berlanti spoke about his experiences growing up gay in the New York suburbs during his acceptance speech.
        This year, Berlanti was also nominated for outstanding movie for producing "Red, White & Royal Blue."
