Route 3 east is closed at Main Street after a dump truck overturned near the Clifton Commons shopping center.

Police say officers were dispatched at 5:33 a.m. to Route 3 east near Main Avenue for a rollover crash involving a dump truck loaded with gravel.

The driver was out of the vehicle and not injured. All eastbound lanes were shut down due to the truck and spilled debris obstructing the highway.

Closures and heavy traffic delays are expected to last throughout the day as cleanup crews work to restore the road to safe conditions.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and plan an alternate route.
