Nassau County police arrested a Roosevelt woman Sunday afternoon following a knife assault, authorities said.
According to detectives, Marie‑Lucie Auguste, 48, was involved in a verbal dispute with a 47‑year‑old woman around 12:15 p.m. on April 5, when the argument escalated. Police say Auguste punched the victim, pushed her to the ground, then stabbed her in the arm with a knife, causing a laceration. The victim called 911, fearing for her life.
Officers arrived and arrested Auguste. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, while Auguste was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Auguste is charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing.
