Rockland BOCES leaders have broken ground on a $48 million technical education center at the West Nyack campus.
The building will feature an expanded culinary program, a gym and more classroom space.
Many students who apply currently cannot get in due to limited room.
Soon-to-be graduates told News 12 that they are glad the new space will help resolve the issue.
“I know Rockland BOCES is one of the smallest in the state, like CTEC programs, so it's nice to see that it's growing and evolving for the future,” said senior Mary Ludwig.
BOCES expects the center to be open in two years.
