A Monmouth County store is offering customers more than just shopping — it’s giving them a chance to create.
In Red Bank, Pretty Charming Co. is turning everyday accessories into personalized designs.
The shop allows customers to customize hats, tote bags and other items using hundreds of patches and embroidered pieces.
Co-owner Courtney Foy says the idea started after a trip out of state inspired her to bring something new to New Jersey.
“I just loved the hats and I said there’s nothing like this back in Jersey,” Foy said.
Now, just two years later, the mother-daughter-run business has become a popular destination for girls’ nights, birthdays and weekend outings.
The process is simple and takes less than an hour from start to finish.
Customers pick their item — from trucker hats to tote bags — and then choose from a wide selection of patches.
Many of the designs are created in-house.
“For the most part a lot of these patch designs we make in house,” said co-owner Bianca Aranda.
Once selections are made, customers can arrange their designs however they like before pressing them onto the item.
“You can lay them out wherever you want… and kind of just go crazy,” Aranda said.
The experience gives shoppers something more than just a purchase.
“I feel like people are very proud of the things they make… it has a story to it,” Foy said.
It’s a place where creativity is always in style.
