It's official: This was the rainiest and coolest Memorial Day weekend in 5 years as we unofficially kicked off summer.

About two inches of rain fell across New Jersey this weekend with temperatures in the 50s. Memorial Day Monday started with rain but ended with some sunshine and 70s.

But really, almost every Memorial Day weekend over the past couple of years had some rain.

But just because we unofficially kicked off summer doesn't mean beaches will have lifeguards daily yet.

In Asbury Park, it's weekends only through June 12. Then daily June 13 through Labor Day. Only swim when lifeguards are present.
