A Bridgeport nonprofit found a unique way to celebrate a milestone this weekend.
To commemorate its 40th anniversary, Family Reentry held a fashion show at the Knowlton in Bridgeport.
The goal of "Rise & Bloom" fashion show was to build awareness about Family Reentry's mission of helping people returning home from prison.
"This is a labor of love because just as Cinderella wanted to have a beautiful dress to go make her dreams come true that night," says Vernice Holmes, a fashion designer involved in the event. "I love taking peoples' stories to make your dreams come true in clothing."
