Ridgewood High School is set to host its first Friday night football game of the season after a flood-damaged athletic field was cleared for use.

School officials say the field is now safe and has already been used by some sports teams since last weekend.

The athletic complex had been heavily damaged by flooding from a nearby brook, forcing repairs and delaying its return to play.

While one field has reopened, crews are continuing work on a second athletic field that was also damaged by the flooding.

The reopening marks a major milestone in the district's recovery efforts as student-athletes return to their home field.
