A Ridgefield woman was arrested for attempted murder for allegedly poisoning her ex.
Kristen Hogan, 33, poured ethylene glycol, a chemical found in antifreeze, into an open bottle of wine in August, according to police.
The victim was transported to the hospital for renal failure.
Police found several web searches related to various poisons and the amount required to kill a person from Hogan’s phone data, uploaded to the Wi-Fi router on Aug. 7.
She admitted to pouring a small amount of the poison into the wine and a container of iced tea, police say.
According to officials, the couple's child was also admitted to the hospital for symptoms consistent with ethylene glycol poisoning.
Police say the ex said that their child had fallen ill with Hogan. He added that another child was sick in Hogan’s care last year.
Hogan claimed she was trying to get back at her ex.
She is charged with two counts of attempted murder.
