A fire lieutenant from Ridgefield is being honored after he saved a man's life on his way home from work.

Lt. Matthew Bonaguaro was heading home last Wednesday when he witnessed a crash on Grand Avenue.

He found a police officer trying to help an unresponsive man out of one of the cars involved in the accident.

When they realized the victim had no pulse, they immediately began performing life-saving CPR until an ambulance arrived.
