A retrial for Edward Holley in the 2003 murder of Megan McDonald will not begin today as planned.
A court conference is being held instead to determine how long the delay will last. Defense attorneys say they need more time to review new DNA evidence recently turned over by prosecutors. They say the material does not implicate Holley but could potentially help his defense. Prosecutors confirm there will be no jury selection today and that the new trial date has not been set.
Holley remains in custody as both sides prepare for the next phase in the high-profile case, which ended in a mistrial earlier this year.
