A new report is shedding light on just how expensive it has become to live comfortably in Connecticut.
According to a study from SmartAsset, a single adult in Connecticut needs to earn about $108,000 a year to maintain a comfortable lifestyle.
For a family of four, that number jumps to nearly $300,000 annually.
Experts say rising costs for housing, food, transportation and other everyday expenses continue to put pressure on family budgets across the state.
Financial planners say there is no quick fix for the rising cost of living, but recommend building an emergency fund, saving for retirement and carefully tracking monthly expenses.
The report also found New York residents face similarly high costs.
A single adult in New York needs more than $124,000 a year to live comfortably, while a family of four needs nearly $292,000 annually.
