WEDNESDAY: Wednesday will see record warmth as some neighborhoods could reach 80 degrees — a feat that is very uncommon during the month of November. The current record for Nov. 6 is 75 degrees set back in 2022, and that is very likely to fall. A warm breeze out of the west with plenty of sun will propel highs into the upper 70s to 80 degrees by 3 p.m.

REST OF THE WEEK: This warmth will be short-lived as a cold front passes through the borough Wednesday night without rain, but with much cooler weather by week's end. Highs on Thursday will still be quite warm in the low 70s, but highs will struggle to reach 60 between Friday and Sunday. Clouds will eventually be on the increase over the weekend, but it should be mainly dry through at least midday Sunday.

EYES ON THE TROPICS: All eyes turn to a strengthening Rafael, set to be a strong Category 1 hurricane near Cuba into Thursday. It is expected to move into the Gulf of Mexico and possibly make landfall this weekend near New Orleans. Its moisture will be funneled up the East Coast, with our area possibly receiving the first meaningful rainfall in over a month. The track and intensity will be critical in our local impacts on Sunday and Monday.
