A puppy that is about 8 months old is getting a second chance after being left alone bound to a tree in Mount Vernon.
The dog, now named Journey, is recovering after being found bound so tightly to a tree that she couldn't even turn around, according to the Humane Society of Westchester at New Rochelle.
She was discovered behind a billboard near South Fulton and East Fifth avenues.
The agency says Journey had been left there for two days, crying out for help before they were notified.
"It's clear, given the area she was left, the intention was for her to starve to death unseen. And she sure came close," they wrote in a social media post.
Journey is now searching for a loving home.
