        Pump Patrol: Gas prices lower than they were last year

        A regular gallon of gas at the Citgo on the corner of North and Housatonic avenues was at $2.94, the Gulf across the street had its price for a regular gallon of gas at $2.96.

        Gas prices continue to fall in Connecticut, two gas stations have even placed their prices below $3 on Monday.
        "I always come here because I know the gas is low. But I didn't know it was this low. It's good." said a customer.
        A regular gallon of gas at the Citgo on the corner of North and Housatonic avenues was at $2.94, the Gulf across the street had its price for a regular gallon of gas at $2.96.
        "This is ideal you know. I wish it were spread out among different towns," said another customer who lives Monroe.
        According to Gas Buddy, the statewide average for a gallon of regular gas is $3.23, down more than nine cents since last week.
        Last year, the average price was $3.75, which is 52 cents higher than today.
