A Middletown Board of Education member was suspended following an arrest on gun charges last week, according to prosecutors.
Authorities say they were informed that 46-year-old Joseph Fitzgerald was traveling to someone’s home to engage in an altercation and was possibly armed.
Police pulled him over in a neighboring town and retrieved the weapons from his car.
Court documents say that they found an unregistered gun, a spring gun and a stun gun.
Fitzgerald was jailed and ordered to give up his weapons.
