5h agoA Manchester Township man was sentenced to 40 years in prison for a series of violent assaults on members of the Orthodox Jewish community in and around Lakewood.
Dion Marsh pleaded guilty earlier this year to a series of crimes.
Authorities say Marsh attempted to kill and hurt five Jewish people in 2022. They say Marsh ran over four people in a stolen vehicle and stabbed one of them in the chest. Authorities say the five victims were “visibly identifiable as Orthodox Jews.”
“The threat from hate-fueled violence is a sad reality that impacts far too many people across our state and our nation,” U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger wrote in a statement. “The sentence imposed today holds Marsh accountable for his brutal and hate-filled rampage.”
Marsh, 29, was 27 years old at the time of the April 8, 2022, incidents.
