The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is providing more information about a deadly crash that took place along Getty Avenue in Clifton on Wednesday.
The victim has not been named, but he’s been identified as a 52-year-old from Newton.
Investigators are saying that a woman driving a Chevy Trailblazer sped through a red light and struck five vehicles.
The Chevy hit a black Honda head-on before crashing into other vehicles at the intersection with Crooks Avenue. The man behind the wheel of the Honda did not survive, according to officials.
The prosecutor’s office will determine a cause for the crash.
Investigators with that office say the driver of the Chevy is a 35-year-old woman from Madison.
The prosecutor will decide if that woman will face any criminal charges and determine why she was driving at a high speed through the intersection.
