        Man charged in child abuse case to appear in Brooklyn court 

        Robert White, 38, was arrested on March 11 in connection with a reported assault on Kyng Davis that occurred on Feb. 22 inside a home in East New York, according to a criminal complaint.

        A man accused of abusing a 3-year-old boy weeks before his death is set to appear in a Brooklyn courtroom today.
        Robert White, 38, was arrested on March 11 in connection with a reported assault on Kyng Davis that occurred on Feb. 22 inside a home in East New York, according to a criminal complaint.
        Authorities say White, allegedly slapped the child multiple times, causing bruising and redness. The incident was reported by a witness in the home.
        Weeks later, on March 9, Kyng was dropped off at SUNY Downstate Hospital unconscious and bruised. He was later pronounced dead. The medical examiner has not yet determined his cause of death.
        It’s important to note - White is not facing any charges in connection with Kyng's death at this point.
        White has been charged with multiple offenses, including:
        • Assault in the second degree
        • Attempted assault in the second degree
        • Assault in the third degree
        • Endangering the welfare of a child
        He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The investigation remains ongoing. A medical examiner will determine the official cause of death for Kyng.
