Poughkeepsie man, woman allegedly busted with fentanyl, crack after stealing merchandise from Home Depot
A man and a woman from Poughkeepsie were allegedly busted with fentanyl, crack cocaine and Suboxone after police confronted them for stealing merchandise from a Home Depot in the Town of Southeast.
It happened just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Home Depot parking lot, located at 80 Independent Way.
Investigators say officers noticed 45-year-old Dennis M. Bussanich and 37-year-old Karleen Carter placing the stolen goods in their car.
When officers walked up, they spotted drug paraphernalia inside the car, according to police.
Police took Bussanich and Carter into custody. They each face two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
Bussanich faces additional charges including grand larceny and false personation. Carter also faces an additional charge of conspiracy.
Officials say they were both arraigned in the Town of Southeast court.
Bussanich was remanded to Putnam County Correctional Facility while Carter was released on her own recognizance.
