Police: Threat involving assault rifle triggers 'lockout' at Long Beach High School

A school spokesperson said the lockout was being lifted at noon for all schools but the high school, with a modified lockout in place at the high school for the remainder of the day and a police presence through dismissal.

A threat involving an assault rifle caused Long Beach High School to go into a "lockout" Thursday, police say.
A school spokesperson said the lockout was lifted around noon for all schools. The high school had a modified lockout in place for the remainder of the day and a police presence through dismissal.
The spokesperson said students and staff were permitted to enter the high school.
