The Newark Police Department is asking the public for help identifying a man they say assaulted a New Jersey Transit bus driver.
Officials say the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 27. They say the man slapped the driver in the face after she would not let him on the bus at an unauthorized stop.
Police say the suspect got onto the bus at the next bus stop, had words with the driver and then slapped her in the face.
The suspect is described as a Black man with red and black hair. He was seen wearing a black jacket and pants, a black hat and a gray hoodie.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call 1-877-NWK-TIPS(1-877-695-8477).
