News 12 obtained new information from police regarding an August hammer attack and robbery in Melrose. Police say it happened at a tattoo shop on Third Avenue.
Police are still trying to catch the six women behind it. The women beat up a 41-year-old woman before hitting her in the face with a hammer and robbing her on Aug. 17.
They also hit a 29-year-old man in the arm with the hammer and punched him in the face, police say. The owner of the tattoo shop said he's helping the police in the investigation.
A resident News 12 spoke with off camera said she's not shocked.
"I think it's sad and very disgusting that people would act like that."
Police say the woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition after the attack.
