Some Boonton police officers rescued an owl that was stuck in a soccer net.
Police say that the bird was stuck in the net at the RVA fields on Wednesday. Sgt. Christopher Chicoris and Patrolman Colin Yuill were called to the scene.
Officials say that Chicoris is specially trained as the Boonton Police Department’s Humane Law Enforcement Officer, which allows him to handle calls “involving the safety and protection of animals and wildlife.”
The pair was able to get the owl free and set it back into the wild.
