A woman was robbed at knifepoint on the Ammerman campus at Suffolk County Community College last night, Suffolk County police said.
According to investigators, the suspect, Mitchell Taylor, 32, approached a 29-year-old woman inside a building on campus at 533 College Rd. and demanded her wallet and jacket around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said the woman complied and was not injured.
Taylor fled the scene, according to officials.
Officers investigated all night and eventually arrested Taylor at his Holtsville home about four miles from campus, around 1:00 a.m.
Suffolk County police charged Taylor with one count of first degree robbery.
Taylor was being held at the Sixth Precinct overnight but was taken to a hospital for an undisclosed reason, according to police. It's unclear how that may affect his arraignment.
