Police say a 24-year-old man was grazed by gunfire in Fordham Heights on Sunday afternoon — just blocks away and under 24 hours after a
separate shooting left a 21-year-old man wounded.
According to the NYPD, Sunday's shooting happened just before 3:30 p.m. near East 184th Street and Morris Avenue.
Detectives say the 24-year-old victim suffered a graze wound to the left leg. Paramedics took him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he is expected to recover.
At around 6 p.m. Saturday, a crime scene took over a portion of the sidewalk in front of a deli near East 187th Street and Grand Concourse.
Here, police say a 21-year-old man was shot in the left leg.
Details surrounding the circumstances of Saturday's shooting were sparse, as the NYPD said the victim was not cooperating with the investigation.
In the most recent shooting, police say they are searching for two men dressed in Nike Tech clothing who ran northbound on Morris Avenue after opening fire.
A connection between the two shootings — if any — was not immediately known.
Police urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
