Police say a snowman that had a swastika and was made to look like Adolf Hitler was found at the Newman Poses Preserve.
Westport police said they were notified of the snowman on Sunday by a rabbi.
According to police, the snowman was located without any antisemitic symbols by Monday.
Officials said the person who took the picture and reported the snowman removed the symbols before leaving the preserve on Sunday.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Westport police at 203-341-6000.
“This incident does not reflect the beliefs of our community," said First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker. “Westport strives to be a welcoming community, where everyone feels like they belong. I will continue to lead with that goal as my North Star and will work with the police department to ensure everyone feels safe and heard.”
