A Peekskill neighborhood woke up Monday to a police presence that shut down roads.
Local and state police have blocked off portions of Lafayette Place and Hudson Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Police say an investigation is ongoing, but have not provided further information.
A day care facility at the house next to where the activity is centered has been closed for the morning, and people are not being allowed to walk down the street.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
