        Police: 2-year-old getting treat from ice cream truck struck by vehicle in Linden

        The child was taken to University Hospital in Newark with injuries that were not life-threatening.

        A 2-year-old boy is recovering after being struck by a vehicle in Linden on Friday.
        Linden police say that the child got ice cream from a truck stopped near West Henry Street near Miner Terrace.
        They say the child ran away from his parents and was struck by the vehicle.
        The child was taken to University Hospital in Newark with injuries that were not life-threatening.
        Police say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
