Former President Donald Trump will be making his way back into the Oval Office in January.
After the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the federal right for a woman to have an abortion in 2022, many women woke up Wednesday morning feeling uneasy about the election results and how it will affect their reproductive rights.
The passing of Proposition 1 on the ballot is alleviating some of their concerns.
Advocate Donna Lieberman says she feels it's the "beacon of light" for New Yorkers who are struggling to cope with the presidential election results.
She says it "protects New Yorkers' right to get an abortion, it protects New Yorkers' rights against discrimination."
Over 4 million New Yorkers voted "yes" on the bill, engraining their reproductive freedoms at the state level for the foreseen future.
