A wildfire in Morris County has burned about 77 acres of land and is 85% contained, according to the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service.

Officials say the fire is in the area of Jacobs Road in Rockaway Township. Officials say that as of 8 p.m. Monday, the fire is threatening three buildings. But officials say that no evacuations have been ordered.

Jacobs Road is closed in the area.

The fire has been ongoing since this weekend. Officials say that on Saturday afternoon, a helicopter capable of dropping 350 gallons of water dropped 15 loads of water on the fire.

Morris County fire companies are protecting the homes and businesses in the area.

State officials say that New Jersey is under a wildfire watch due to the lack of rain in the state. It has not rained in the state in about three weeks.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
