47m agoA truck was seen on surveillance camera hitting the side of another truck at a busy Hunts Point intersection on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the FDNY, one person has been hospitalized in this incident that took place at around 1:30 p.m. along Helleck Street.
The surveillance video shows a black pickup truck turning right on red, followed by the white truck speeding through the light at an angle. That truck sidewipes a Martin Brower truck that then came to a complete stop. The white truck then overturned in the center of the intersection.
The truck's windshield was shattered, and tomatoes were spotted spilling out of the top of the truck.
"It's usually pretty packed... every now and then there's an accident," said one local resident. "It's always something to look out for, people on a bike or people just driving crazy."
The intersection is right at the entrance of Hunts Point Market and residents tell News 12 that they see dozens of trucks pass through the area daily.
