        Officials: Motor vehicle stop leads to gun arrest in Norwalk

        Norwalk police say officers observed 20-year-old Niza Clarke, who was the passenger in the car, attempt to run from the scene during the traffic stop.

        A Stratford man was arrested on gun charges Thursday after a traffic stop for a moving violation in the area of North Water Street.
        Norwalk police say officers observed 20-year-old Niza Clarke, who was the passenger in the car, attempt to run from the scene during the traffic stop. Clarke was caught.
        Police say they found a gun in his possession and took him into custody.
        Clarke is facing multiple charges, including illegal manufacture of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.
        His bond was set at $250,000. He is scheduled to be in court Feb. 20.
