An off-duty NYPD sergeant from Warwick is accused of being intoxicated during a wrong -way crash that killed a Peekskill driver on the Taconic State Parkway.
It happened on Jan. 22.
State police say 47-year-old Tiffany Howell was driving south in the northbound lanes
in Mount Pleasant.
She crashed head-on into a car being driven by 61-year-old Manuel Boitel, according to the New York State Attorney General's Office.
Howell faces several charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide.
At last check, she was suspended without pay.
The New York State Attorney General's Office is investigating the crash since it involves a member of law enforcement.
Howell is due back in court March 18.
Her attorney told News 12, "no comment."
