A second person is facing charges related to a deadly hit-and-run crash near the Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus.
Krisiann Reyes Rivera was killed Monday night in the incident. Prosecutors say that after a crash on Route 17, she got out of her car. They say she went over to the other car, which was towing a U-Haul trailer and smacked the windows.
Police say Estuardo Rodriguez then ran over Reyes Rivera and drove off. Good Samaritans followed Rodriguez into the mall parking lot and boxed him in. Police then arrested him.
Prosecutors say that the car Rodriguez was allegedly driving did not belong to him, but to Michael Marciano, who was driving in tandem with Rodriguez.
Police say when they initially arrested Rodriguez, they found one pill of suspected ecstasy and another of Percocet, along with several hundred THC cartridges. He is now facing additional charges.
Marciano was arrested Friday and charged with possessing a dangerous substance with the intent to distribute.
