An off-duty member of the NYPD was involved in a fatal wrong-way collision late Thursday night on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Mount Pleasant, state police say.

The crash happened northbound around 11:30 p.m.

A vehicle driven by 47-year-old Tiffany Howell of Warwick was traveling south in the northbound lanes at the time, state police say.

Howell struck a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Manuel Boitel of Peekskill head-on, state police say.

Boitel was pronounced dead at Westchester Medical Center. Howell suffered non-life‑threatening injuries and was also taken to the medical center, state police say.

The state Attorney General’s Office has been notified.
