NYPD confirmed that two officers were hurt Saturday afternoon after responding to a report of a stolen vehicle in Concourse Village.
Citizen video shows police and FDNY firefighters responding to the incident at the intersection of East 149th Street and Grand Concourse.
Officials say that two officers responded to a report of a stolen car when the driver of that car reversed, hitting one officer in the hand, and then a police car that had an officer inside.
A driver told News 12 that he was side-swiped by a blue sedan a short distance away on Exterior Street.
The witness said that the driver ran from the scene, leaving behind the sedan in the street and another man in its passenger seat.
"The passenger tried to get out but couldn't because he was pinned up against another car that was there previously. And the driver did get out and he ran. I don't know if they caught him or not," the witness told News 12.
NYPD had not confirmed as of Saturday night if both incidents just minutes away from each other were connected.
NYPD told News 12 on Saturday night the officers hurt were in stable condition.
