Police say a 38-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection to the death of a 3-year-old at SUNY Downstate. Robert White, of Queens, was charged with assault of a minor. NYPD detectives say the 3-year-old boy was dropped off at Downstate Hospital in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens on Sunday morning and pronounced dead. Police say that the child had visible bruising. They also say two individuals dropped off the child and then left in a car. Officials say White had grabbed the child by the collar and hit him in the face more than 10 times, causing bruising to his face. They also say the child was left in a wet diaper for hours. White has not been charged with homicide. Police say no one else is in custody at this time.
