NYPD: Group wanted for breaking into gym lockers in Brooklyn and Manhattan
Police say a group of people have been going into gyms, breaking into lockers and stealing property in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
The first incident occurred on Dec. 17, according to police. Three people entered Lifetime Gym at 18 6th Ave. and removed a cellphone and a wallet from a gym locker. A credit card was later used to make an unauthorized $27,000 transaction.
The incident happened two more times in Manhattan. On Jan. 3, two people entered an Equinox gym at 315 Park Ave.S in Manhattan, took a cellphone and wallet from a locker and a credit card was later used for a $26,000 transaction. On Jan. 15, two people entered an Equinox gym at 160 Columbus Ave., also took a cellphone and wallet from a locker and later made a $30,000 purchase on a credit card.
