Police say a woman was attacked in Crown Heights by a man wielding a belt on Monday.
News 12 spoke exclusively with the victim, 24-year-old Grace Bernard about the incident.
She says she was exiting the Lincoln Market on Fulton Avenue around 9:30 p.m. and on her way home when she saw people running.
"I'm scared that he's going to attack me, I'm terrified," said Bernard.
She says the man tried whipping other women with a studded belt. He then chased Bernard across the street and then cornered her in front of the Franklin Avenue and Lefferts Place bus stop.
"He pushes the front of me into the back and bashes my head against the wall and he's repeatedly hitting me in the back over and over and over again," she says.
Another resident interfered and ran off the attacker.
"If he wasn't there, I think he would have kept beating me and beating me and possibly killed me," said Bernard.
