Police say they have made another arrest in the fatal 2017 shooting of a college student in East Flatbush.
Detectives say 35-year-old Dean Boland faces charges of murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
Police say 20-year-old Justin Hackley was shot multiple times in front of 533 Ocean Ave. in East Flatbush on July 11, 2017.
In 2019, Rasheed Boland was arrested in Texas. He was charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police have been searching for Boland since 2017.
News 12 spoke with Marie Bernard, Justin Hackley’s mother. She says the arrest brings her one step closer to peace.
“We can sleep. We can stop looking, and now just focus on the trial,” said Bernard.
Both brothers are due back in court on Feb. 3.
