        NYPD: 3 people injured in Longwood 3-car crash

        According to police, an 82-year-old woman was driving a Dodge minivan when she lost control and hit one car, then hit another parked car.

        The NYPD said three people were taken to the hospital following a three-car crash in Longwood on Saturday night.
        According to police, an 82-year-old woman was driving a Dodge minivan when she lost control and hit one car, then hit another parked car.
        “The black van was the one that hit them,” said Odalis Severino, who said she witnessed the collision. “[The minivan] hit the gray car. It hit a bumper over there. It came and crashed into a pole.”
        The three cars landed onto the curb near the intersection of Westchester and Bryant avenues, with the minivan crashing into a traffic light pole.
        “It was a really strong impact,” Severino said.
        Investigators said three people in the other two cars were taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition, and the 82-year-old driver refused medical treatment.
        Severino told News 12 that she owns a nearby nail salon and the area is too congested.
        “There’s no parking,” said Severino. “The streets are really dangerous. Look at what just happened.”
        She said accidents are a familiar sight to see and neighbors are nervous.
        “We don’t know what we are going to do,” she added. “We’re going to have to complain on behalf of the neighborhood.”
        As for Saturday’s crash, police said no charges were filed.
